Mum and I decided to do our usual walk from Heysham to Morecambe with Lolly today. It was the first time since Whitby hat Lolly had been on a bus ,something she really loves, and as usual, she was quite happy curling out on Mum’s lap on the way to Heysham .
Unfortunately, the tide was in when we got to the front, but Lolly is still trying to get down onto the beach.
She bit off a little more than she could chew however when a wave hit the rocks and splashed on her as she was trotting down the steps.
Lolly usually likes being near water because she can go in for a doggy paddle (when there’s no waves of course) but the kind of water we ended up getting on our walk in the form of rain was not quite as popular with her.
Luckily the rain was only a rather heavy shower, so her coat soon dried off and went all fluffy.
The tide was going out as we were walking along the promenade and by the time we reached Morecambe, South Beach where dogs are allowed at this time of year was mostly uncovered. Lolly was very happy to finally have a run and after a short “disagreement “ with a young Alsatian, she played fetch for quite some time.
Naturally we managed to tire her out quite thoroughly and she slept for most of the bus ride home.
